I just got my 2100+ along with an SLK-800 and the Y.S. Tech 74mm TMD fan.

Everything That I have read on the net shows that the Y.S. fan is installed on the HS with the plastic side down and the chrome metal side up. The problem with this is now the fan blows down onto the CPU rather than up away fromt he CPU when installed like this.

Is this normal? It seems my CPU temps and mobo temps are about 5 degrees higher blowing on the CPU rather then blowing away from the CPU.

What gives?

Some HSFs and systems will work better with the fan pulling air off of the heatsink. It really depends on the heatsink and the air flow in the case, use it which ever way will produce the best temps.

the only heatsinks that are designed to have air pulled from the heatsink are the swiftech ones.
you want the fan blowing down on the slk800 so youve got it right :)
