A friend told me that having two of equal amounts of ram was better than having just one or even two sticks of it but having two different amounts. An example would be that having two sticks of 256 would be better than having one with 512 or a 128 and 256. Is he correct or is he full of BS? Thanks.

it depends on if your oc'ing or not. a 128 and a 256 stick may hinder your oc. but, if you are running at stock speeds, it wont be a problem.
