Where to put the thermal sensor on a P4

the subject says it all, where do i put the thermal probe to monitor my cpu temp (temperature) for an intel pentium 4?

i put as many key words into this post as possible to make it more searchable (i didn't really think you didn't know what temp meant ;)). so far i haven't found anything on this in the forums - only for AMD cpus.

i saw one mod for an AMD cpu where the guy cut a line through the socket so he could run the wire through the cpu pins and tape the sensor to the bottom of the cpu. otherwise, people are generally told to put the probe as close as they can beside the die.

what's a P4 user to do?? putting it on the side of the IHS seems like it will yield really inaccurate temps

has anyone put a sensor on their P4?
