Should I be worried if my cpu is running at as high as 50 C/ 122 F?
I have a generic Heatsink/fan...and I have an AMD Athlon XP 2.0 Ghz Chip.

Thanks,
Brian

PS If i need a new heatsink/fan..what would be the best quality heatsink/fan for under 25

That temperature is ok, but closer to ambient is better. Whilst folding I often hit 55 degrees.

Amd claim's the max temp is 80c, sound crazy to me. i dont like going over 45c if i can help it but youre ok, with the stock hsf ive seen stock 2100pally's run 120f. good luck. later.

I had a stock 1600 Pali with Stock HS/F than ran in the 50's 24/7. Heat never hurt it, but my lack of Unlocking skillz did.....

No.

SK-7/L1A, 85°F room temp.

50C is borderline. Depends on how long you want to keep the CPU. Personally, I'd recommend better cooling for the CPU and case, with an eye toward 40-45C under load.
