I just ran across this blurb at DigiTimes concerning the ship date of the Athlon 64 being "moved up."

Doesn't surprise me. With extra pressure from the 800mhz P4's, and the trouble that the 3200+ Barton has in topping them, AMD needs to send a quick counterpunch, which they apparently are by pushing the Clawhammer's release date up.

ClawHammer desktop chip a.k.a. Athlon 64 will be shipped in August but officially released and available in September 2003.
