What are the normal values people used when they post there 3dmark scores. I benchmarked the pc in my sig and it scored about 8000 marks, and I was quite surprised that it didnt break 10k. However, there were a bunch of options that I really didnt have a clue what to do with so I just changed em so they looked pretty, lol. Anyway, its not like im ticked or anything, my old comp got 3000 marks!

well for starters...only run the game benchmarks...and turn off AA...not familiar with the ATI driver settings...someone that runs a ATI card can help you out more with the options to turn off/on...

For a 9700...with everything turned on...that might be around average...but my GF3 Ti200 can do 10,977 on 3dmark 2001se with all of the tweaks I know...but I know the tweaks for a Nvidia card...

if i go with ALL the lowest settings as in 640 x 480 with 16bit

i hit 18k :) with my ti4600 o/c'd

my 9700 PRO on standard test - 1024 x 768 hits the 15k range - yet so does my ti4600 :)

that is with AA and FSAA off.

for ATI 0 u need to download the "control panel" software to get into the aa and FSAA settings and other things, as far as i know.

my 10,977 is at default 3d 2001se settings with riva tuner tweaks (Nvidia)...

10,977

You might want to compair your score with mine and see what settings might be different...if running other then default 3d mark settings...

my default is here:

ti4600 - 15449 - Running all tests:
Default test - Abit BH7 2.4 @ 3105 MHz / 512 pc3200/ - ti4600 324/729

9700 PRo in my dell - standard 1024 x768 - 16284

640 x 480 - 16bit tests:

P 4 2.4 @ 3163 MHz / 9700 PRO / 512 PC3200 - 18907
(changed the ti4600 for the 9700 pro to try it out)

P4 2.4 @ 2.9- Abit BH7 - PC3200 Ti4600 @ 324 - 738.3dp

Actually...that post was to the starter ;)...but you might be able to help them out more since you are more familiar with the ATI drivers...

That IS a very low score. Mr.Guvernment is ight about the control panel - without it installed the drivers defult to something like 2xFSAA and 4xAF. The problem is, that alone doesnt explain why the score is so low.

As show here, i get 8679 points with my stock-speed softmodded r9500 (9700non-pro) and a stock xp1800 w/4xFSAA and 8xAF.

notasparagus when running that benchmark you should always leave the settings at stock. Otherwise, would could never compare scores.

u can compare the 640 x 480 scores :) - it is just not realyl a good comparison as it si not using any power of your vid card

:D

u can upload and save your result using the 640 x 480 and then use the project search on futuremakr to find others that did a 640 x 480.

ok, I reran the benchmark leaving it at stock settings and got about 9.5k. I was looking at the stats and realized my prcessor was listed at running at 1ghz, lol. So I am trying to sort that out now and hopefully that will help it out a little bit. Thanks for the help guys!
