$350.00...hmmmm
I am not trying to advertise, but since i get most of my stuff at Newegg and spend hours browsing there, I'll put in my 2 cents. I'd get it all there so that you dont end up paying multiple shipping charges from multiple stores, that would put a big hurt on the little budget.
case w/ 300w PSU, $40
KT266a MoBo with onboard AC97sound,10/100 $60
Radeon 7000 OEM 64MB DDR $40
Athlon XP 1800+ $50
Speeze HSF $10
256MB PC2700 $40
WesternDigital 40GB 7200RPM 8MB cache HDD $69
Lite-On CD/RW $45
Floppy drive, rounded cables $20
Black PS/2 keyboard/basic mouse combo $12
Thats $386, figure 25 bucks more for shipping if you order it all at once. You could probably drop $30 to $50 bucks from that by finding things in their refurbished items section. look for the 'Free Fedex Saver Shipping' line when youre checking out the products. It makes a big difference when on a tight budget. of course you still have to get the operating system. WINXP home OEM is another 90 bucks. I've tried Mandrake Linux 9.1, It's free if you have the time and ability. stable too. But I'm not a gamer, and thats what this box is for, right? or you can buy the cd's for $20 bucks or so from any number of online sites. Just make sure that the hardware you get is at least 'known to work' with it, you can check the hardware compatibility at

Hope that helps and good luck.
