I use acetone to clean AS off the slug, or die, on the CPU, and of course it gets on the surrounding ceramic, which I also clean with acetone. But it never comes really clean - there's always some residual "cloudiness" there.

Am I just not sticking with it long enough? Not changing to clean cloth enough? Do you get ALL traces of AS off your CPU? What am I missing, or doing wrong here?

Any help and/or assistance will be appreciated. Thanx.

If you want the whole CPU pristeen, try some Extra Strength Flux Remover, like GC 19-270. You can get it from any of the electronics supply houses.

Also what works realy great is "GOOF OFF" the ultimate remover, I used it yesterday when I re-lap'd my HS. I got mine @ Home Depot.
