Look at these scores

I recently upgraded from a Raid0 (2X80GB WD 2nd Ed) on a promise TX2 raid controller to onboard SATA Raid0. My scores went up. Is this what to expect?, Thus should I buy raptors then?

I'm impressed. I running 2 x Cheetah 15k on a LSI21320 Raid 0. I get write 51k and read 90k? ...Rich

id go btw the atto btw the sandra looks incorrect as usuall.
10k -12k on the w/r on atto is usuall. so mabey a 20-30% increase.
id hold out myself. those are very respectable speeds.

I get almost that much/score with my TX2 RAID 0 in ATTO, but I use 2 Maxtor +9 80 gb 8 meg cache HDs. I get about 58,000 in Sandra. You will get higher scores on a freshly installed OS that has been cleaned up and defragged well. Sandra is a decent benchmark when you compare your, your friends or others drive benchmarks. Just don't put much emphesis on Sandra's comparble drive stats. I am running a P4 2.53 @ 3 ghz on a P4PE mobo.
