DX9.0 help......

I have a game, that i heard that might not like DX9.0a/b

i have DX9.0b installed.

it wants to use DX8.1

the sound messes up on the game. but i know its not a problem with the game. Its an online game, i have to use a seperate program to get online to play it. ( after installing the game to my HDD )

and i'm wondering if it may be DX9

if so, is there a way i can kinda...downgrade to DX8.1?

Guru3d.com have a Direct X 9 uninstaller. .

You can try going back to 8.1, and see if it cures the problem.

ok, i go there, but i keep getting some error, when i try to get to the page to d/l it

so i did a search for it. and the problems is, all the DX9 uninstallers only want to work for XP. and i run Windows 98 SE.

So.......i don't know........i want to put 8.1 back on........but.......arrgh.....this is driving me NUTS!!!!!

i need a way to put 8.1 back on my computer!

Do a 'repair' reinstall and hope it overwrites DX9.
