At boot the drive is recognized, but only at ATA33. What the heck? Windows identifies the drive as MSI CD-RW CR52 SCSI. It's an CR52-M variety and it's not a scsi device. It uses the same brand of cable my hard drive uses (which runs at ATA 100), so it's not the cable. It's the master on it's own chain on the secondary IDE bus with no other devices.
Anyone have any ideas? Would flashing to a new firmware revision fix things? If so, does anyone know how to pick the right one on MSI's site here? It has one for 1.xx and 2.xx and another one for 3.xx. I looked on the drive and I couldn't find any version number. Ideas anyone?
Thanks!
