i dont kno if this was thought of but is there any way at all u can hook up another cable modem to an existing cable modem and have both running into the same computer...something like that or something similar
 
Generally, it is difficult, but you can do it. The easy way is to buy a router that supports dual modems.

Don't expect the speedup to be 1+1=2, you are not combining the cable modems (they don't support that), you simply have two connections.. so what happens is that every other connection goes out the other modem in a round-robin, or load-balanced system. In order for any single download to go faster, you would need to use a download accelerator, which would open mulitple connections (thus using the second modem).
