Right now, i can get the athlon 64 2800, the k8npro, and a radeon 9800 se AIW for 400 dollars. Should i buy it? Or should i wait for 939?

I dont know if 939 will have that big of a difference over 754, so i need your help.

First of all, how much do you think nf3 boards + 939 processors are gonna cost? Along with a nv40/r420, what is a realistic total for all three of them?

You should wait for NF3 250 for S754, as for waiting for s939, u'll be doing that for a long time it seems

S939 mobo +/- $150-200
S939 CPU (3500+ min) = $400+
the GPUs another $400-500

ohh man...
950 dollars at least??
:(
The max i can get is 712 dollars... maybe 800 bux at most...

Isn't there gonna be a 3100+ release? If that is 200 dollars, then i can get a full combo for 750-800 which is my budget.

Don't wait for 939....there is no difference except the latter processors. Dual channel support won't be added, the only reason I can think of for the new socket is so that they can ramp up speeds even more in the future.

I agree 939 is not an affordable option any more, but what you mean dual channel won't be added, chief?

Thanks for the replies, but can someone answer my question? Will there be any release that is anywhere near 200 dollars? Chances are, i can get a cheap nf3-250 for 100 if i look in newegg refurb after a while, so that means i am looking for a 250 dollar socket 939 proc. Will i be able to buy such a processor before or at july?

nooooooooooooooo
This makes me sad :(

Does this mean i should just bite the bullet now and get an a64 system?
