I was wondering how much difference you guys get from idle to load? Mine seems to change, but most of the time my CPU will be at 42-45 and only go up to 50 running Prime. That is only 5C between load and idle. Also, often after having it under load for a long time, the temp will go down to 38C or so idle. So loading it will lower the idle temp. Is there any theory for why this is so?

Also ever since I applied thermal paste it seems my CPUs temp changes much faster; if I open the door, the CPU cools down almost as fast as the air temp. It is silver paste, and seems to be doing a good job?

My difference is usually 3-5C between idle and load.

I'm not sure why your temp would drop during long loads, perhaps someone else has seen this before and can explain.
