i was replacing the fan on the ps... everything was good... but when i connected the power cord on the thing... the ground wire hit something... then there was a fire... then pop, pop, pop...

so sad....

everything would have been good... execpt for that ground wire getting in the way....

so if anyone is reading this... dont forget to check the loose wire before pluging in the power cord....

so sad....:(

Was it an expensive psu? Hope it wasn't a 400 watter or anything. Guess those capacitors still had a little charge left in them, I assume you unplugged it from the wall first

it was my 300 watt antec...

now im using a generic 400watt...

i think 3 capaciters blew... and fried a few diodes and resistors....

now im seeing if i can fix it... learning experience i guess....

It'd be cool if you fix it - like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Let us know if you manage :)
