Alright so my friend is now using a different motherboard basically same model and type... So he is using a 2500+, 2700 generic ram, 80 gig wd hd, sony dvd rom, giga-byte 7axp pro (BTW nothing is over-clocked)... Now here is what seems weird... When we boot up and come to the main boot up screen where it shows cpu speed and ect it takes literally about 5 minutes to get past that screen, but after awhile it detects the hard-drive, and dvd-rom as masters on different ide slots as it should (just in a really long time...) ... But then it doesn't detect his windows install so it asks for a system disk which we put up, and about literally another 10 minutes later it finally boots into windows install, and after selecting windows repair since he already has it installed... It ends up reporting that there is no hard-drive detected and to reboot and try again... Any ideas please?

You may have a device conflict. Remove all cards except the video card and unplug all other devices except the HDD0(boot HD). Then go from there....
