Chessmaster 10th Edition problems?

Ok, so here's a game a little out of place amongst the DOOM ravens on this board...

I just purchased Chessmaster 10th edition and I'm having problems running the 3D aniamated boards... I've downloaded the patch and installed it, still no go... Pretty much the game freezes when I select any 3D animated board...
Does anyone have this game who could help?

Also, CM10 does NOT work with dual monitor or ultramon.... I've had to disable my secondary monitor to get this game to display correctly - not the greatest setup, but i can live with it.

What do you use to kill the trigens?

i dont know about the retail, but when i played the demo i didnt have any troubles with my dual monitor ultramon set-up

What resolution are you running your desktop at? Maybe it was because i had my desktop at 1600x1200???

my main screen is an 18.1 inch LCD at 1280x1024 and the secondary is a 15 inch LCD at 1024x768, and i ran it on the larger screen
