I asked this problem a while ago and only got one response. anybody got any info for me? plz :D

heres what im gonna do tell me if it will work

Im buying

1. mobo
2. cpu
3. ram
4. hardrive
5. cd drive
6. winxp oem

i already have the video card and speakers and monitor

What im going to do is.

1. connect everything
2. Turn comp on
3. Have the winxp cd in cd drive
4. Since the drive isn't formatted im gonna have to do a full format and not a quick format
5. After it formats it will then procede to install winxp on 1 partition
6. after it installs it and everything it reboots
7. then i enter the serial code
8. enter some more info
9. get to my desktop
10. install drivers for everything, like the mobo, videocard, etc....
11. It should be good.

WILL THIS WORK? IF IT DOES THEN I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS

1. Can i bring a hardrive from my other computer and connect it to this this new one? (its a ide hardrive btw)
2. Do i have to format it? or can i just plug it in and it will work?
3. Will my games, applications possibly still work?

Your plan of action looks good.

1/2. Yes you can plug in another hard disk and when you boot windows it should see it and read data on the disk - no need to format.

3. Possible, but it depends. Although the programs are there, the registry entries arent...
