What is the feeling on using a layer of Artic Silver between the CPU and the shim? I realize that the CPU heat is generated on the die and not on the ceramic. The CPU is a 1.4 T bird on an Abit KG7 Raid board running a home made water cooler. I am going with the shim because I am worried about the cooler "wabling" on the die as I tighten it down.

Seems like a waste of artic silver to me but if you only put it on the heatsink side of the shim it wont harm anything unless it runs out the sides and gets on the board.
