6600gt vs.9800pro

Im planing on getting an xfx6600gt and I was wondering if this card is faster than the 9800pro in games like fs2004 and farcry with 4xaa and 16x anistropic filtering. I know it has 128bit memory will this make the games slower in anti aliasing?
 
The 6600gt is faster and cost about the same as the 9800pro, and the performance gap becomes wider when the 6600gt is oced.
 
I have a Msi 6600GT right now and formerly had a HIS 9800Pro. The Msi RIPS though what the 9800Pro could even come close to. I love my Msi 6600GT, runs even better with some As5 though ;)
 
So not even with the anti aliasing on the highest it will still smoke the 9800pro? Sorry I take a while to resppond im at school right now and I had to do ans assignment.
 
9800pro is still a good card, but the 6600GT is faster from top to bottom no matter what settings you compare the two with.
 
Well the 6600GT gets like what 9000 stock on '03 meanwhile the 9800pro gets like 6000 marks? Yeah there's quite a difference there.

Its more like 7900 vs 5600 or so. Around that. Overclocked it winds up being about 9k vs 7.
 
Yea With my broke 9800pro I hit 5902 3dmark03 with my old kt400 mobo and pc2100ram. hopefully my new mobo and memory i have it will give me a great boost with this 6600gt.
 
from what i have seen stock for stock the 9800xt and pro are actualy slightly faster until aa and as or factored in then the 6600gt is faster....

Uh a stock 9800xt/pro is faster than a stock 6600GT? Damn you need to get your money back from your crack dealer.
 
actually, there have been benchmarks where the 9800pro has pulled past the 6600gt by pretty decent margins. gamespot has posted some halflife 2 benchmarks with those results. but no doubt the 6600gt is better
 
I just sold my 9800pro and ready to order a 6600GT :)

The 6600GT is faster but not TON faster than the9800pro..it doesn't crush it...I ran only 30-40 fps farcry 1024x768 6xaa and 16x af on 9800pro..hopfully get better results when I get my card.

well...crushed doom3 like no where..it even beats the x800 pro

So goin with those benchmarks, would it be safe to say going with a 6800GT over a X800 is a good choice?
 
the x800pro probably wouldnt be a good purchase. the x800xl is coming and is much faster than it and the 6800gt already blows it away in terms of speed.
 
6800gt blows away x800pro in speeds? beat maybe, but blow away? not likely. In fact with a softmod to a PE you'd have a better card then the gt, that accually would "blow away" somewhat but still not really.

P.S. Not all x800pro's will softmod, but still blow away?
