When I asign Static IP's....I lose internet connectivity on that pc....what gives?

Yes I am manually changing the TCP/IP setting on the connection to the static ip....oh dag....maybe that's the problem..the DHCP server is trying to tell windows what it's ip is, but........

Well I'll go check that out..in the meantime any help? :bang head


EDIT: Yup, that was the problem....guess I should have checked it out before I posted sorry! On the otherhand, maybe someone else can learn from it.
 
Why would you use smoothwall's ip as the DNS server. I thought you would just use its ip as the gateway address.
