Yeah, that's what I would guess........... I have my 9800 Pro running 1600x1200 in UT2004 all the time with no problems, don't really use it on the desktop since I don't like squinting in order to see anything.

A. for the 440, it sure does depend upon whether you're at 16 colors, 16 bit, 32 bit or whatever.
B. my 9800Pro runs 1600x1200, 70hz, in Desert Combat, yours obviously should be much much faster than it currently is running. (I OC mine about 10%)

Did you completely remove your NVIDIA drivers before popping in your new card? You absolutely should do that. If you didn't, you should spend the time to fully de-install them and maybe even use a "driver cleaner" program like the one at Guru3D.com.

Are you using the latest ATI drivers for your 9800?
If you load up ATI Tool, you can see what the speeds are set at...... (or Redline if it's a Sapphire)

it turns out that the monitor w/ the mx440 supports 1600x1200 and the one im using w. my 9800pro only goes up to 1280x1024. i guess ill be saving up for a new monitor soon
