hello i am running Knoppix from the cd of course this may be a dumb question but can i install things like programs and games and such like this or do i need linux installed to do that?

umm im not intierly sure but i would say no cause its on a cd but im not 100% sure

yes you can thanks to unionfs

from konqueror type klik://unionfs

i think knoppix is using klik if not look in the knoppix forums for an alternative way

oh ok lol i thought since it was a cd the nothen could be installed on the os but i was proven wrong i guess you really do learn something new every day

this is another reason why i find knoppix utterly amazing!!!!!

plus, the amount of programs loaded with knoppix (if you do the install) for 1 disc is enormous. i'm currently running mandrake 10.1 with a 3 disk installation and it doesn't have as many programs.

yes, i was just thinking that earlier today...and how i was so disappointed about the amount of programs i had when i switched from knoppix to ubuntu.
