Why would Hyper Threading cause freezing in almost all programs?

I had my Prescott 3.0 in HT mode yesterday and every app was freezing.
Whats up with that?

Bump? This is really bugging me out.When I disable it in the bios everything is fine.

I think more information about your machine/operating system would get you more feedback...

hehe yeah, actually I found out it's a bios issue with the EO stepping of my Prescott.
Need to update the bios. Thanks.

Edit: Bios update fixed the problem.
