help ! I treyd to burn to bios and get an error

i have gigabyte 9550 128mb 128bit card. I treyd to falsh bios of 9600 pro
with flashrom but igot an error that its locked , how do i unlocke it

What would be the point of flashing the card to a 9600pro? and are you able to oc it or is it locked too?

Um, yeah. You can't flash your 9550 to a 9600 Pro even if the clock speeds would be similar. They are two completely different chipsets. Now, if you had a 9500 Pro, you could flash that to a 9700 Pro because thats just the way it is.

Yeah, the 9550 is totally different core. That's why they are cheaper than 9500s because the core is not as good.

RV350 - 9600np, 9600p, some 9550s
RV360 - 9600XT, some 9550s
R300 - 9500np, 9500p, 9700np, 9700p
R350 - 9800np, 9800p
R360 - 9800XT.

Those are the cores, I read somewhere that it is possible to flash a 9550 to a 9600XT if it's RV360 core but I doubt that the card would handle the speeds.

BTW, Ghost_recon88 I thought that the 9500np flashed to the 9700p but that the 9500p couldn't because it doesn't physically have the extra pipelines or something.
