Does anyone make a mobo with IEEE 1394 built-in? I am looking to build a system in the next couple of months. I of course want DDR , and all of the other normal stuff 4 usb jacks, etc. but I would also like firewire built in so that I don't have to get an add-on card.

Asus made a model of the P3E-B with a built-in Fire-Wire controller. 440BX's are loong in the tooth, and surely don't support DDR.

They'd be a good place to start a search for a modern mobo with built-in Fire-Wire. Those particular P3B-F's were expensive! A PCI controller may be less expensive.

Thanks......I have a Compaq now and it is just handy to have 2 usb and one firewire connection up front.
