Some background to give you an idea of what's happening...After updating to the 2.6.12-2 Kernel, I found out that man/less weren't working, so I fixed it by changing a single character in a file and running /etc/rc.d/rc.udev. Everything went fine, and I got man/less working again. My NEW problem is this: whenever I boot up, the system hangs for 2-3 minutes as soon as the message Initializing UDEV Dynamic Device Directory is displayed. After those few minutes, the system continues along the boot process as if there was no problem.

Last time I installed slackware I didn't have the 2-3 minute hang, but I have upgraded more packages on this install than on previous installs; could an upgrade be the problem?
