Promise or Via SATA? (A8V Deluxe)

I'm just trying to figure out what controller to use. I am a gamer primarily.

Will you be using RAID at all? I'm using the Via and it seems to work well; the only niggle is I'm getting the error for the Promise controller on boot.

Yes, I plan on using a raid (striped) array. I am about to convert to a retail x64 windows release. I am now using promise, because I just radomly chose it on the build. But I was wondering if VIA had better performance (speed, etc) vs. promise, since there is 2 controllers on the board.
