I've always used two instances of Prime 95 on all of my P4s with HT and just recently w/ my X2 4400+ chip.

but this time I have aquired a 3700+ San Diego chip and I want to do a torture test instead but I dont know what settings to use in the custom settings tab of Prime 95. I have 1GB of memory if that will help in someone answering my question.

I think people generally use the blended test when they refer to "prime stable". Small fft's rocks your CPU, large fft's your RAM, blended some of each. Many say that regardless of the test it is important to set the priority to 10. Lastly, check out Stress Prime. It more than likely uses an identical computational algorithm as Prime 95, but it's dressed up in a convenient GUI.
