I finished building my computer last night, but I want to verify I installed the big typhoon right. Everyone is saying how difficult it is to install, but I found it rather easy.
Here's how it went
Removed mobo screws (2) and front plastic yellow thing
Flipped over mobo and put in a type A screw (from BT) through each hole (2).
Put H clip over heatsink, applied thermal compound, and set down the f+hs.
Flipped mobo back up
Slipped a washer over each protruding type A screw, screwed the goldish metal cylinder type spacers on each type A screw. Aligned the H clip+BT with A screws, screwed on nuts for each A screw

I'm currently in the process of OCing my opty, but I have a fear for the massive heat sink falling off and crushing my parts

sounds about right to me, (thats how mine is setup). just make sure that it is compressed to the core well enough, or the heatsink will slightly deflect under load and separate from the proc core, making it run much hotter.
