Do I need AMD Dual core driver for Opty 170?

Just built my Opty 170 rig, wondering if I need to run that AMD X2 driver program, or if it is just for the X2 chips?

and there is a similar driver in the Opteron section, but its actually the same exact file. so yes, it would work with dual opties.

What exactly does it do?

Probably fixes up some programs that might run a bit weird with dual cores. My 3dMarks05 CPU tests at the end has weird "invisible" lines going across the screen continously, it doesn't affect performance nor my scores, but just a tad annoying at times. Same happens when I play Starcraft, I haven't noticed the lines in any other games or applications though. It should definitely be easily fixed by downloading that Dual core hotfix, but I don't have SP2 yet, so it doesn't install.
