Cheap Pump?

whats wrong with fully rotational? And yes, I saw the aeration, but it's adjustable, so you can just turn it down to nothing. Or mod it so that it does nothing.

Nothing wrong with it. I'd recommend the Via Aqua 1800 from drsfosterandsmith.com over that one because you won't have to modify it and you get a bit more flow. I believe they're on backorder however so if you're buying now and that will suit your needs and budget, go for it.

I've owned one of these and it was a good pump till it burnt out after about a year of use. Motherboard Monitor switched off my PC so no damage :)
There's a pic here without all the bits attached http://www.aquariumsuperstore.co.uk/mall/maxijetpowerheads.asp

It's not designed for running in-line but can be modded.
The aeration is done by adding in some of the bits you get with it, if you leave them off no aeration :)

I've tried to go the cheap pump route, and it's a huge no-no. Te pump I bought was supposed to have better specs than the D5, but broke when putting the barbs onto it, I guess you get the kind of quality you pay for. I ended up buying the DD-D5 and I mounted it in my case really cool, I love it.

there isnt any modification involved.. its just a matter of wether or not you use the ventui port on the output plumbing or leave it plugged. I like the quality of the maxijet better then the via aqua personaly as far as powerheads go but for watercooling I've been wondering if they were up to the task personaly, most seem to like about 6ft head and that would take two maxi 1200's in series still cheaper then most alternitives

don't know about the maxijets or vias but I've got a Marineland s660 powerhead that's been running in my daughters pc for over 2 yrs now.
it's in a 4x4 conduit box and runs off a 12v/120ac relay/fuse setup. I'm only cooling the cpu and using 3/8" since it's in a small microatx hp tower.

and the pump is super quiet. I RTV'd it to the side and put an outlet barb on it.

I'm a big ebayer so lemme plug these auctions.

MD10s go up a lot. Same head as a viaAqua 1800, 6.5-6.8ft.

100v version:

Both came to $30 delivered to VA. Hard to beat a $30 Iwaki on a budget.

This guy is selling a fairly beat-up kit:

$70 shipped isn't bad since I think its a eheim 1250 and brand new it alone is $65 without shipping. Guessing this isnt relevant since the OP just asked for a pump and probably doesnt need anything else. Just posting a decent auction.
