Hey all.

I just got my hands on a free CAbletron SmartSwitch 2200 and am looking for the communication cable pinout. It uses a UTP cable with a standard RJ45 and was hoping I could figure out how to connect to it.

And if anyone knows, what settings should I have for hyperterm?

I think (don't quote me on that) that proprietary interfaces over RJ45 uses rollover cable
i.e.:
1-8
2-7
3-6
4-5
5-4
6-3
7-2
8-1

I would think so cause many people adopted it, but I am told it doesn't. I did try it but it didn't seem to work. Nor did a straight through or crossover... however it could be my hyperterminal settings...

Is this just based on the fact that most people use rollover? I have no experience in the field, only CCNA
