IWILL KK266plus-R stuttering question

Hi folks , I just got a KK266 and transplanted it into my system, I started with a fresh formated C Drive for a good clean instalation. I installed Win 98B and then my VooDoo 5 drivers and everything was going fine....untill... I installed the IDE drivers that came with the IWILL Mother Board, after that the computer slowed down to a crawl!!!! when it finally boots up the windows wav file sounds like it is being played in chopped up parts...kinda like a helicoptor at first !!!! and the mouse will stall if moved around the screen quickly !!! I have a 2940 ADAPTEC scsi card and two HD (IDE) and two CDs , any input anyone ?????

I would go here, and get the latest VIA 4in1 drivers.

I also have had probs with sound at start up. REALLY, REALLY CHOPPY. I just turned the sound off @ start up. -no probs now.
