Programming a remote

I have one of the first hp media center pc's. The hd crashed so I ended up taking off mce and installing xp pro. I have put meedio on it and I am using the mce remote that came with the computer. The remote works in meedio but only half of the buttons are assigned a task.

Is there a way to assign different tasks to the buttons on the remote? Is there a way to do this through meedio or using another program to control it?

Meedio should have a profile for the remote. Otherwise, I'd say you'll need something like Girder to remap the MCE buttons.
