Hi,
Can someone spec me a computer using Newegg for two budgets: a $2000 budget (monitor not included) and a $1200 budget (monitor not included)? I am going to be running current and upcoming (within the year) FPS and RTS games like ETQW, BF2142, World in Conflict, C&C, Company of Heroes, COD4, UT3 among other popular ones. I may not overclock. I hear buffalo firesticks is currently good memory. What is a good ASUS passive pipe heatsink (like my current one) motherboard for the E6600 CPU? If I get a Xtremegamer X-Fi what are the cheapest speakers it will sound good with? What is the best bang for the buck storage drive? I am planning on keeping my monitor and raptor hard drives (unless there is a better RAID0 hard drive setup for around $200) and PSU(unless I will need a more powerful one) from my current setup below. I already have a keyboard and mouse.

My current system:
Video Card: x1900xt 512mb
Hard Drives: 2x WD Raptor 74gb RAID0
120GB Storage Drive
Monitor: Viewsonic VX922 19inch
PSU: Enermax 650W
CPU: 3800+ dual core AMD 939
MB: Asus A8N-SLI Premium
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Thanks for your help

FYI, Intel is basically slashing all the prices on their processors come July 22.

Core 2 Quad Q(X)6700 2,66GHz >> $530
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2,4GHz >> $266
Core 2 Duo E6850 3,0GHz >> $266
Core 2 Duo E6750 2,66GHz >> $183

The E6750 and E6850 are using an FSB of 1333MHz instead of 1066MHz (little faster)

So, since the E6600 is being retired, I'd get the Q6600, its one of the best processors out there, and look at the price!! Just make sure your mobo supports quad cores.

we have exactly the same RAM, mobo and monitor, but i have an opty 165. and an 8800GTS.

i would get:
G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 $204.99
ASUS P5B Premium Vista Edition LGA 775 $219.99
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz $521.90

Total :$946.88

for a video card, get an EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB for $279.99

total: $1,226.87

or get an EVGA 768-P2-N831-AR GeForce 8800GTX 768MB for $559.99
and a Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Fatal1ty for $184.99
and a HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000 HDS721075KLA330 750gb 32meg cache for $259.99

total: $1,951.85

of course if you wait a couple weeks the price will drop a little bit so you could get a newer PSU if you wanted

that one 750gig drive will give better performance than your 2 74gig raptors.
