That will do the job, did the same thing myself once. No converter is necessary, just make sure the s-video out isn't a multi-use port like the nVidia cards have ( those require a dongle )

Dang, I think my card came with a dongle. I just have to find it now...

If you absolutely have no idea where it is or lost it in some deep abyss, you can probably call ATI/AMD and ask them to ship you a replacement for a few bucks. Easier than buying a new card. Good luck, and :welcome:

Fyi, if it does turn out to be a regular svideo port, you can find cables cheaper. I'm kicking myself because I found this one

for about 5$ shipped (2.??$ first class shipping) and cannot find the link again (and I need to order one). Lots of people carry the startec one but prices vary a lot.

A local shop told me over the phone they had something similar for 3$ (going to have to check it out).
The audio side (mini plug to rca) is much more common and you should be able to find it locally or online cheap.
You could get a video adapter and a audio cable for about 4$ plus shipping at ritz camera

Of course, they might be cheaper locally due to shipping costs if you can find them. These adapters are very simple and cheap to make. Paying 30$ or more for one is like paying 30$ for a printer cable at best buy (a 3$ usb cable).

If you do need a special dongle, sometimes you can find them cheap too.

You just need to find out exactlly which one you need.
