budget CAD/DCC card by modding/ocing geforce

Hey,
I read that one can hack geforce to be like quadro for CAD/DCC purposes.
Do you have any experience with that?

You can use rivatuner to do it, but only on geforce MX4xx and ti4xxx I believe

There is no point, unless you have software that MUST see a "quadro class" GPU before it runs...

Not worth it. Just buy a new quadro card..

works on a 6600GT as well. Lots of cards can be bios flashed. There is really no need for a firegl or a quadro card. Most of the stuff is done on the cpu. Of course lots of ram helps too, but what exactly are you doing that needs a quadro? If you actually do rendering with a videocard, (which most people THINK they are but really only are using the cpu) what exactly is it and do you need the special features that come with a quadro?

You'd be better off with a quadcore/ dual quads and 4gigs of ram before getting a "quadro" card.
