There's a cvar e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy and e_detail_materials_view_dist_z that changes the quality on distant textures. There's more details on http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=11614.

The highest setting for the xy in the default config is 2048, changing it to 4096 will make it look much better. At least it did for me.

That doesn't fix it. I've tried. I've jacked up the values past 4096 and 256 z distance. it's not loading the high res texture. that's the root of th problem.

for instance.

load up the game and look at the mountain in high texture settings mode. then go to the menu and switch to medium textures.

BAM!

that's the problem.

Works for me too, maybe your cfg files have been scrambled somehow. If you have backups I would use them and start over...

Hmm I have to check that. Surely my cfg files are all messed up now since I've changed it so many times who knows what I have in there or if the originals are original anymore.
