52 inches of CRYSIS!!! (56k murder)

OK well after the adventure of gettin a new tv upstairs we finally setteled on Samsung LN-T5271F full 1080p tv after getting the first one up within 20 secs of it being on I noticed that it had a nice dead pixel dead center, so back it went for a new one thats perfect! Lets just say the thing is REDICOLOUSLY CRAZY INSANE AWESOME! i love it although the 120hz stuff is a lil buggy. I have yet to calibrate it but i had the chance today while the parental units were not home to hook up my main rig to it... and of course the first thing i did was play crysis, actually it was the only thing i did i was in that much of awe!... any ways let me show you the awesomeness, although the pics dont even come close to doing justice.

Of course i am running at 1920x1080 @ 60hz (1080p)

My case is a lian li V2000b Plus 2 full tower case (24 inches tall), and the speakers are 40 inches tall just for some perspective.

EDIT btw playing the game at 1920x1080 @ all high settings with my main rig prodouced decent framerates enought to be very playable.... LONG LIVE THE 8800gts 640!!!

UPDATE APRIL 19th 2008! PICS OF FINAL SETUP - CHECK POST 74 FOR DETAILS!

UPDATE JULY 21ST 2008... Check out post number 102 for OSX 52incher pics hehe

At frys it was 3499 normally... on friday of last week it went on sale for 2799 and we got the guy (the dude was actually really nice) to drop the price to the frys online sale price of 2599 w/ free shipping... this was at the Woodland Hills frys... we were about to check out and we realized that the tax base in LA is higher than where we live (ventura) so we left and went to the Oxnard frys and asked if they could drop the price of the tv to their online price... lets just say they were complete dicks constantly saying that "it was already heavily onsale..." so we talked with the store manager who was also a complete dick and we told him outright, woodland hills frys has a tv waiting for us @ 2600 bucks... either you drop the price or we will never buy anything big from your store again... only thing the oxnard store manager had to say was we dont honor our online price... so we ended up traveling back down to woodland hills to grab the tv @ 2600 bucks + tax it came out to just over 2800 bucks...

We got it home and hooked up and it had a dead pixel so we took it back to the woodland hills frys on sunday. I can not say enough about how nice they were there, they had 0 absolutly 0 problems with us bringing the tv back and they even let me pick out the box i wanted (aparently some are better than others... theres a whole thread over at AVS bout it)... If you are in the LA area and looking for a big item and frys has a good online price id head to the woodland hills frys... i just cant say enough how easy they made the whole process.

ANYWAYS.... the tv ended up burnning up 28 100 dollar bills.. (cash only baby!)

EDIT: one thing i have NEVER GOTTEN is why the frys retail stores and frys online are like 2 completly different places... usually most of their stuff is priced the same but there will be stuff priced COMPLETLY differen that at the store, and everytime i have asked (at least at the oxnard store) why it isnt the same as the online price they always get ****y.

Fry's bought out outpost.com. They have taken their time trying to get everything from the originally two separate companies integrated so that there can be some unified inventory and pricing. Gift cards are available in-store only and can only be used in-store. I have been told that it will 'eventually' get fixed so you can use gift cards online or B&M and inventory, pricing and sales will all get in sync.

Here's to holding your breath...

Nice set-up, BTW.

First thing you should have done was watch porn. Then play video games.

Either way it looks fantastic!

Very nice. The only thing I have to say about the purchasing story, although of course it was not truly your decision, is that you should have hooked up the guys at the first store on the spot when they offered to pricematch the online price. Whenever a retail salesman or manager will go against stated policy that means they are going out of their way to make the sale and provide good customer service and satisfaction. I understand the tax thing from a purely logical perspective, especially on such a large purchase, but having worked retail before (a long time ago now) when someone does something like that for you, show appreciation by hooking them up with the sale too

Yes he did, but you kind of tried to play them against the other store and if the other one had done the pice match you wouldn' have bought it fom the first store. I think you missed my point, it's sort of like when people buy from Newegg even if they know it's a few dollars more. Just something to keep in mind for those guys working retail.

Dude please turn AA on, such a low resolution like that tears apart my eyes without it.

Hehe, nice screen Wish I could have a nice LCD instead of my current rear projection, but it's pretty nice for the price we paid Only about $1500 for 55" and it still looks sick

Very nice. Are you running Crysis in DX10 or DX9? Either way, it still looks truly amazing.
