ie icon vanishes from desktop every now and then

Be more specific... what do you mean "it just vanishes", like one minute it's there, and the next it's not? Also which OS are you running, including the version of IE?... and include your system specs either in your next post, or preferrably create a sig.

xp ,sp2 -ie 7.................yeah it will disapear and i have to make another copy

They are saying IE7 is so outdated, you shouldn't be using it.
Get the latest IE (use windows update) or get a different browser.
