I purchased Crucial PC2-8500 memory. Why is it showing PC2-6400?

if you notice the epp#2 its at 533 which is 1066(pc2 8500). the "max bandwith" shows the same pc2 6400 on my gskill 1000. but it recognizes the epp timings up to ddr2 1000. so your fine

It's reading PC2-6400 (400 MHz) because that's what the JEDEC standard was when the RAM was manufactured. You can read up on JEDEC here...

Like chop_wood mentioned, the only column under the SPD tab that you really need to be concerned with is EPP #2... which in your case shows the frequency as being 533 MHz / DDR2-1066 (as read from the SPD chip), including timings (5-5-5-15-2T) and Vdimm (2.2V) as also read from the SPD.
