I am building my last Folding Rig (#19). I wanted to make it different from the borg, so I decided to use my Mac G5 Case I had...



Main Components are a Asus Maximus, and a Q6600.




Project Log:

I dremel'd the back to install a lian-li motherboard holder. I wanted a Removable Tray so I can work on Upgrades easily:


For Safety, I covered the Jagged Edges with Window Gaskets from Home Depot:


Components for a simple Mounting System all found in Home Depot, a 6inch Aluminum Plate, with 10-32 Machine Screws and Wing-nuts to easily remove them by hand:


Drilled Holes for the Mounting Screws:


Mounted on the Case:

Inside Look: So to Pull the Mobo Tray out, I just unscrew the 4 wing nuts!


Just need to repeat on the bottom:


As of 3/31/08 I am Waiting on WC Kit and GPU. I will update soon.

Im a dedicated Apple hater, but I agree their case is nice.

Love the case. I do like the clean apple look

Also, if you want a less "puffy" look, you could try some door molding/edging from your local autozone or o'reilly. Only seems to come in black or chrome though.

BTW, you have made a great start on the G5 mod.
