Project: "Rotten Apple" (Apple G5 Mac Casemod)

Project "Rotten Apple" (24/7 Water Cooled Folder for Team 32)

I am building my last Folding Rig (#19). I wanted to make it different from the borg, so I decided to use my Mac G5 Case I had...

Main Components are a Asus Maximus, and a Q6600.

Project Log:

I dremel'd the back to install a lian-li motherboard holder. I wanted a Removable Tray so I can work on Upgrades easily:

For Safety, I covered the Jagged Edges with Window Gaskets from Home Depot:

Components for a simple Mounting System all found in Home Depot, a 6inch Aluminum Plate, with 10-32 Machine Screws and Wing-nuts to easily remove them by hand:

Love the case. I do like the clean apple look :)

Also, if you want a less "puffy" look, you could try some door molding/edging from your local autozone or o'reilly. Only seems to come in black or chrome though.

I cleaned some of the off topic stuff out for you, nitteo. Hopefully it will stay more on track now. :)

BTW, you have made a great start on the G5 mod.

Very nice :) I might have to go this way on my G3 -- with the Lian Li MB tray
