External Drive reccomendations

Hey, I haven't been on here in a while. I am looking for a external drive around 750gb or 1tb in capacity. I know that I can just back up in a internal drive which I do have a dedicated server, but I like having a movable backup also. I was looking at the seagate and maxtor selections. How are these perfomance wise? Maybe something that looks cool in a group or stacked together since I will most likely get more than one.
