I use to wonder the same thing about Asus's Republic of Gamers series motherboards. I picked up my Maximus II Forumlua for an amazing price here in the classies, because it was a good deal and... Well... The motherboard looks amazing. After using it for quite some time, I can say it's the best motherboard I've ever owned. Since a good X58 motherboard will cost around $250 anyway, I'd definitely say this is worth $300.
 
i have a hard time paying more than 250 for even a x58
only reason why I have the extreme is because of the awesome classifieds and the brollocks branch of newegg :p
 
Super good deal i payed the full price for mine and i think its still worth every penny!
