streaming to PS3 via NAS

hey guys, I keep hearing about programs like twonkymedia or TVersity for example, that are supposed to replace the UPNP server on my DNS-323 NAS device. I've done some googling, but found linux instructions that I can't understand at all (No linux background at all). I was wondering if someone could explain exactly how to install twonkymedia on my DNS-323 (Apparantly I have to enable something called telnet?). If someone could simplify this task for me, that would be great.

I use tversity on my file server and haven't run into any major problems. I don't know anything about running it on that NAS though

looks like i screwed it up, when i type telnet 192.168.0.xxx into "run" i get nothing.... hrmm. Device still works nicely though lol (phew), but I don't think I have telnet setup correctly
