First off wanted to say this forum is the best I've found for PC related issues. Kudos to the mods!
Heres my issue: I've just assembled what is potentially the greatest piece of technology I've ever owned and it is really kick ***! I run Protools 8 as this is my lifeblood but like to use my PC to game once in a blue moon... so I have Fallout 3, which is my favorite game of all time. Now, after a fresh install of Windows XP Pro SP3 I found I couldn't get Protools to install after I had installed Fallout 3 AND VICE VERSA! So now I've tried a few things but have no idea what else I should try as I'm not uber keen on all the details. When it comes to hardware I'm good - get me into the nitty gritty of the OS and you've lost me.
Here is the dialog box that comes up when the install fails:
Feature Transfer error
Feature: Default feature
Component: Fallout 3
File: E:\Data2.cab
Error: The device is not ready
And here is my hardware list:
Asus P5Q Pro Turbo
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz cpu
2 x 2Gb Corsair DDR2 800 PC-6400
2 x 500Gb Seagate Barracuda's 7200 rpm
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme soundcard
