I have an E8500 on a GA-EP45-UD3P MOBO overclocked to 4 GHz. The CPU PLL Voltage is at 1.65 . Is that ok?

It's higher then i would run, Intel says 1.54max, common wisdom says 1.6ish.

Is it stable with lower? I'd drop it down and see if i could stabilize it with a bit of vcore, personally.
PLL hasn't been implicated in any cpu deaths yet though.

I've always had the best results around 1.55-1.57v. Too much actually made things worse. Do some testing and see what works best.

Thank you for the help. I have run Prime95 and CPUID for 10 hours and the max CPU temp was 48c ,118F. I will go into the BIOS and lower it. I have lowered it to 1.57.

Are you using the auto feature in the bios? Don't use that as it way overshoots everything. I had my E8500 prime stable at 4.5ghz using stock pll and 1.3 termination.

Yup. I took everything off auto and entered the values manually ... it even had my RAM settings wrong. I think when I had my Q8200 on auto the mobo had my pll @ 1.65 and the termination at 1.8 or something like that when overclocked. Here are my E8500 settings, hope they help. Keep in mind the MCH ref is not what it would be in the bios. In bios, set everything to standard, enter the mch ref value from ET first, then change everything else. It will auto-adjust it. I think mine's at .8 or something while showing .74 in ET. Also I was watercooled.

1.8 termination is way too high. 1.4 is about the max if i remember correctly.
