Microsoft Force feedback 2 /Win XP

Hi all, I can't get the force feedback or the spring tension settings to change from full,i'll set them to off but after going into the game or pressing any button it goes back to full setting on both,I installed the VIA patch and installed the newest 4-1 drivers.I saw that device manager is listing the stick twice,i'v tried to uninstall and reinstall everyway i could think off but it comes up twice still,any ideas would be great ,Thx
