These are the same as the Vertex 2 Pro with the Sandforce SF-1500 controller, that completely whupped Intel's ***. Anandtech discussed them in his latest SSD update. The Vertex 2 Pro got canceled because of the price of the controller, but OCZ got a batch of early controllers cheaply and made these Limited Edition Vertex from them to sell cheaply.

yeah, it's a Sandforce controller - apparently runs just a hair slower than the Vertex-2 Pro.

The only difference between the Vertex LE and the Vertex 2 Pro is the firmware revision.
